I have gained a clear understanding of what youth work really is. Not only this but I have understood the importance of the way we interact with young people. Prior to attending this training, I had a teacher perspective when it comes to supporting young people, however by applying the teaching from this training I will be able to support young people in a different capacity.
Overall, I really enjoyed the training. I feel that I have walked away with a clearer understanding of Youth Work. This also contributed to my placement as my work revolved around Youth Work, so I was able to apply the knowledge I had learnt to my work. Furthermore, I personally wanted to go into teaching, however, after completing my placement and the training, I now feel that I would like to explore Youth Work!
