The idea of ashebo was born in 2013 by Kemi Folarin she wanted to engage with people from disadvantaged communities to provide opportunities for them to learn and grow by sharing through the experience of doing. She went on to establish ashebo as a community interest company in 2014. Later that year Dc Carlton Howson and Martin Simms became directors, which enabled the vision to grow.
The aim of the company is to: provide the space to enable creativity to grow, diversity to flourish and boundaries to be crossed.
Our objectives are:
To create and deliver inclusive training , arts and educational opportunities which are engaging and inspiring.
To develop authentic programmes and partnerships which create environmental and economic social change?
To support the development of people by providing employment and volunteer opportunities by delivering creative events, projects and programmes.
To develop and deliver appropriate consultancy services for community organisations, private and public sector.
